Copy button included below
  1. 1

Copy your signature, then open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. 2

    Tap Apps, then tap Mail.

  3. 3

    Tap Signature, under Composing.

  4. 4

Tap the text field and paste your signature.

  5. 5

Immediately shake your device — a small "Undo Change Attributes" prompt will appear. Tap it to restore the formatting iOS just stripped from the paste.

  6. 6

If you have more than one email account, tap "Per Account" to give this account its own signature instead of sharing one across all of them.

  7. 7

Tap outside the text field to save.

Good to know

  • Doing this from your phone? Open this page ON the phone — a signed-in account carries your saved signature everywhere; anonymous drafts live only in the browser where you made them.
  • iOS strips formatting from anything pasted into the Signature field the moment you paste it. Shaking the device right after (or swiping left with three fingers, if Shake to Undo is off) usually brings it back, but it's not guaranteed on every iOS version — send yourself a test email to check.
  • Images are unreliable here even when the undo trick works: logos sometimes land as attachments instead of showing inline, and a future iOS update can quietly break it again. For phones, we recommend our image-free "Minimal" template instead of one with a logo or headshot.
  • "Per Account" is off by default, which means every account shares one signature until you turn it on.
